Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram are among the top 10 most downloaded apps of the decade 2010-2019.
This decade was marked by the massification of smartphones in almost the entire world. It allowed millions of people to have access, among many other things, to social networks. Of course, apps played a vital role in bringing about this phenomenon, and practically the list of most downloaded apps in the last 10 years was totally dominated by social platforms.
Recently, App Annie, a data analysis firm on the state of mobile software, published its ranking of the 10 most downloaded applications of the decade, confirming the authority of social networks. However, what stands out the most is Facebook and its portfolio of services, since the first 4 positions belong to those led by Mark Zuckerberg.
The list of the most downloaded apps of the decade:
- facebook messenger
- Tik Tok
- uc browser
It is important to remember that, in the case of WhatsApp and Instagram, both proposals were acquired by Facebook years after their first stage of success.
Obviously, the investment made in both applications has been one of the most fruitful in history. Today, Instagram is the preferred social network among young people. WhatsApp, despite being surrounded by a host of rivals, continues to dominate the field of instant messaging in much of the world.
In short, Zuckerberg has two great strengths that will surely keep him popular for a long time. In fact, the Californian company’s plan is to unify Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram chat in the same application. However, as stated by The Wall Street Journal, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) could hinder this strategy by seeing a possible monopoly in the hands of Mark Zuckerberg.
