11 people aboard a Delta flight bound for Atlanta were injured when the plane experienced “severe turbulence”

Eleven people on a Delta flight were injured when the plane experienced “severe turbulence” before landing in Atlanta on Tuesday night.

Among the injured were passengers and crew members aboard Delta Flight 175 from Milan, the airline told WANF in a statement.

They were taken to the hospital upon landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and none of their injuries were considered life-threatening, a spokesperson told the outlet.

The plane, carrying 151 passengers and 14 crew members, arrived in Atlanta as severe weather hit the area, according to the report.

“Our priority is taking care of our injured customers and crew members,” Delta said in a statement.

“We thank the first responders who met the plane to provide medical care and who are transporting the injured to [the] hospital.”
