5 Feet Long Diya Handmade by Varanasi Students for Ram Temple ‘Pran-Pratishtha’ Ceremony

Preparations are underway for Ram Lalla’s ‘pran-pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22. Idols of elephant, lion, Lord Hanuman and Garuda, as well as the ‘vahana’ of Lord Vishnu, have been placed at the entrance gate of the Janmabhoomi temple.

People are participating in the same thing all over the country with their own offers. This is what the students of Varanasi did recently.

Ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya on January 22, students from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh created a five-foot-long diya out of soil from the Ganges River to light on the big day, according to reports.

How long did it take to create?

One of the students who built the diya told PTI that it took them 10 days to create the lamp, which measures 5 feet long, 4 feet wide and 1.5 feet high. They even intend to send the gigantic diya to Ayodhya.

Champat Rai, general secretary of Ram Temple Trust, has revealed information about the idol of Lord Ram that will be erected in the temple. Rai claimed that the idol is in the shape of a five-year-old child, is made of dark stone and is 51 inches tall.

What other preparations are being made for the big day?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. He will perform the ceremonies at the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple around 12.15 pm. More than 7,000 guests have received invitations to the consecration ceremony, including 3,000 VVIPs such as priests, donors and politicians.

Additionally, many tents are being constructed in the temple town to accommodate the thousands of devotees expected to gather for Ram Lalla’s pran-pratishtha on January 22.

The Ram Temple complex, built in ancient Nagara architecture, will be 380 feet long (east to west), 250 feet wide and 161 feet high. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5, 2020. The Ram temple will be accessible to pilgrims on January 23.
