Daily Quiz and Riddles took to X, formerly Twitter, to post a tough question, and if you can find the right answer, you’re pretty smart because the question is “for geniuses only.”
The question is: “How many times does the digit 9 appear between 1 and 100?” You’ll want to think carefully before giving the wrong answer, which is pretty easy to do while you’re trying to figure it out.

There is no time limit on this, so you have plenty of time to consider it carefully. Is it 10 times bigger? fifteen? Or maybe even more? The question will perplex many people. Someone posted the correct answer in the comments:
“The digit appears 20 times between 1 and 100, appearing at 9, 19, 29, 39, 49, 59, 69, 79, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, and 99.” “10 times from 1 to 90, 10 times,” said another.
How did some others try to solve the question?
Many people will ignore 90, 91, 92, etc., and only count 9, 19, 29, etc.
Did you do it right the first time? Some readers in the comments didn’t realize that all numbers 90 and up include 9s.
If you want to try something else, count the number of Fs in a sentence. It is much more difficult than it seems because our brain tends to skim certain words.
