A Reddit user with the handle @zenpraxis wrote about the incident on the platform. He posted a screenshot of the chat and asked, “Is this a scam?” Looking for a house in Delhi.”
According to the screenshot, the house is located in Sarita Vihar. The monthly rent of this one bedroom fully furnished kitchen is Rs 15,000. The broker told the user that apply for a company business card.
What did the runner say to the man?
The broker told the man to share his Aadhar card number, WhatsApp number, photograph and phone number along with a fee of Rs 2,500 to get the visitor card.
“The viewing charge is INR 2,500. If you enjoy the apartment, INR 2,500 will be deducted from your rent. If you don’t like the apartment, your INR 2,500 will be refunded,” the agent continued.
How did people react on the Internet?
Since being shared, the post has received 96% upvotes and a variety of responses.
