Airport worker fired for writing obscene message on 7-month-old baby’s luggage

An airport worker was sacked when an irate passenger returning to Cyprus from the UK discovered an obscene message written on his 7-month-old son’s suitcase.

Mario Lucas expressed his frustration after complaining to Ryanair about a message saying “c—- stop checking in late” on the front of his son’s suitcase, the Sun reported.

After visiting family in the United Kingdom, Lucas’s family checked in for their flight to Paphos, located in the western part of the country, just 90 minutes before boarding.

But upon returning to Cyprus, Lucas noticed the horrible message on his little boy’s blue Revelation suitcase while waiting at the baggage claim area.

“When we arrived in Cyprus, we were at the baggage claim area and I saw my son’s suitcase on the belt,” Lucas said. “My wife, Serena, noticed the writing right away.”

Lucas immediately took the matter to Ryanair to file a report, telling the Ireland-based airline that what happened to his son was “scandalous” and that he demanded another suitcase.

“I’m upset because we bought a new suitcase in September,” the disappointed father continued.

After speaking to Ryanair, the airline’s contractor made a statement condemning the act, saying it was “unacceptable” and that they had a “zero tolerance policy for offensive behaviour.”

“This unacceptable incident was reported by our own team on the same day, we immediately investigated it and, following conclusive evidence, the individual involved was terminated,” said contractor ABM Blue Handling.

Lucas was stunned by the brand, as Ryanair employees did not confront him about his check-in time.

The father claimed that an employee at the desk even said, “Everything was fine.”

“It’s not the recommended two hours, but I definitely checked in later. We had no problems at check-in,” Lucas said.
