Amit Shah to inaugurate Ram Temple-themed Durga Pandal
Today, October 16, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to inaugurate the Ram Temple-themed Durga Pandal at Santosh Mitra Square in north Kolkata. The Ram temple in Ayodhya, which is still under construction, served as inspiration for the pandal. According to BJP leader Sajal Ghosh, the official event would begin at 4 pm at Santosh Mitra Square Puja. The Santosh Mitra Square Puja Committee is in charge of organizing the Durga Puja pandal, also known as Sajay Ghosh Puja. The ongoing construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya served as inspiration for this year’s theme, “Ram Temple”. Amit Shah also inaugurated the Puja pandal in 2021, during the Kolkata Assembly elections.
During that period, the BJP organized Durga Puja celebrations in Bengal, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually participated in the ceremony. Amit Shah spent the weekend in Gujarat as part of his three-day stay there. He attended the World Cup match between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Additionally, he visited youth at the “Anganwadi” centers of his Lok Sabha constituency.
