Disturbing footage shows a man hitting a 60-year-old woman more than 50 times with his own cane in a Harlem subway station.
The attack occurred Friday shortly before 3:30 a.m. as the woman was walking through the West 116 Street and Lenox Avenue station, NYPD officials told The Post.
He shocking two-minute video showed the unidentified man lunged at the woman with an umbrella and the woman tried to fight him off with her cane. The suspect was able to grab the woman’s cane as she fell to the ground screaming.
The man then struck the woman with his own stick more than 50 times on her head, stomach, legs, arms, back and hands with such force that the wooden instrument fell apart.
The woman, who had already been hit on the back by this time, managed to wrest what was left of her cane from the deranged man, who then began to hit her on the head several times with his fist.
In the shocking video, the man continues to throw punches and yell at the dazed woman as his own pants begin to fall down with the effort.

The woman remained motionless on the ground for a few seconds until the suspect kicked her several more times before the video cut out.
NYPD responded to a 911 call of an assault around 3:30 a.m., sources told The Post, but during the beating video no MTA workers, police or subway riders intervene or try to stop. the beating
NYPD sources also told The Post that the 60-year-old woman did not know the suspect. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is now believed to be in stable condition.
The unidentified suspect fled the scene before police arrived. It is unclear how the argument between the two began.
There were no reports of any arrests Monday night and the investigation is ongoing, NYPD officials said.
Violent incidents continue to be reported on the New York subway, with a train driver beaten by a deranged pipe-wielding man and another hanger stabbed by a stranger in separate attacks during the last weekend of August.
