AOC claims ‘all’ underage females will face ‘genital examinations’ if biological males are banned from women’s sports

“Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., claimed that “all” underage females will face “genital examinations” if biological males are excluded from women’s sports.

Ocasio-Cortez made her claim during Tuesday’s House Health Oversight Subcommittee hearing featuring NCAA swimming legend and women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines.

The New York Democrat said there were several proposals that sought to “marginalize” transgender Americans before stating during her questioning that women would have to have their pants checked if someone does not believe in their declared gender.

“We’re talking about opening up all women and girls to genital examinations when they’re minors, potentially just because someone can point at someone and say, ‘I don’t think you’re a girl,'” she said.

“And we say this in a post-Dobbs America environment, where states are criminalizing access to abortion and want nothing more than data about women to determine when, who has a menstrual cycle, who doesn’t, and Are we supposed to believe that this will make us better and safer?

“I don’t think so, and as always, I don’t think we’re sitting here on a panel of men that has really thought through the biological and privacy consequences for all women, trans or cisgender,” the Democratic “squad” added. .

Ocasio-Cortez’s statement comes nearly a year after the Ohio State Senate removed a controversial provision from a state House bill that banned biological men from competing against women, which would have required “internal and external” to confirm the gender of a student-athlete.

Ohio Senate Republicans replaced the provision with a requirement that student-athletes whose gender is in question “submit a copy of the participant’s original birth certificate” to compete.

“I’m not sure why that’s in the bill, it’s unnecessary,” state Senate President Matt Huffman said of the genital inspection provision in June 2022.

“All of these tests can be done with a simple DNA swab,” Huffman added.

Tuesday’s hearing saw fireworks from the start when Gaines, an outspoken advocate for keeping women’s sports limited to biological women, responded to Ocasio-Cortez’s “Squad” partner, Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa.

Lee called Gaines’ testimony, as well as testimonies from other female leaders who seek to restrict women’s sports to biological women, “transphobic” in her opening remarks.

Gaines sharply criticized Lee, ranking member of the House Health Oversight Subcommittee, after the Team member attacked witness testimony.

“There is a place for everyone to play sports in this country,” Gaines said, noting that transgender Americans were included in his opinion. “But unsafe, unfair and discriminatory practices must end.”

“You cannot prioritize inclusivity over safety and justice,” the former NCAA swimmer concluded in her opening remarks. “And Lee, ranking member, if my testimony makes me ‘transphobic,’ then I think your opening monologue makes you a misogynist.”
