Biden talks on video with American hostages freed by Hamas: “I’m glad you’re out”

The White House released a short clip of President Biden’s phone call with two newly freed American hostages on Saturday morning to celebrate their liberation from Gaza and to highlight ongoing American diplomatic efforts ahead of an imminent Israeli invasion.

“Hello Judith,” Biden Greeted Judith Raanan.59, who was kidnapped with her 17-year-old daughter Natalie when Hamas stormed Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7.

The women, from Evanston, Illinois, were visiting relatives during the Jewish holidays.

“I’m very glad you’re home, or not home, but I’m glad you’re away,” Biden told mother and daughter on Friday’s call, according to the video shared on X.

“Hey, Nat, how are you? “God loves you,” Biden said. “I’m delighted we were able to get you out, we’ve been working on it for a long time.”

The two women, who were freed by Hamas on Friday after nearly two weeks in captivity, thanked the commander in chief for his support of Israel.

“We’re going to get them all out, God willing,” Biden promised, referring to 10 other missing Americans suspected of being kidnapped by the terrorist group.

The United States and several European allies are urging Israel to postpone its ground invasion in hopes of negotiating the release of the 210 hostages who remain in Gaza.
