While we often say that jugaad is an inherently desi trait, it seems our habits have rubbed off on our neighbors as well. A Chinese man came up with a fun idea to beat the heat when the temperature reached 37 degrees in Guangdong.
The young man was filmed sitting inside an empty fridge. He had settled in well on the inside. The man did not go and sat in the fridge like any old man. He used the jugaadu gears on his brain and took a small stool inside with him. He closed the door completely to keep out the cold air.
Now, with all the cold air he wanted, the boy also had a place to sit comfortably inside the fridge. The last thing this experience would be missing would be a way to continue his compulsive scrolling session while he enjoys the fresh air. Well, he thought so too, so he took his cell phone into his little arctic region to keep himself entertained.

The video has since gone viral on Chinese social media as people come together to sympathize with the man and his urge to calm down. It seemed as if the fridge was located in a convenience store. Although it is not yet clear if the man was a worker in what is supposed to be a store or simply a curious customer.
The Guangdong Meteorological Bureau said the area will experience hot weather for some time. The temperature can rise up to 37°C at the beginning of June. After that, people can expect a respite with rain and thunderstorms.
