At a recent press conference, US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger told reporters that additional debris discovered on the seabed Thursday is consistent with the devastating destruction of the submersible’s pressure chamber, who disappeared on Sunday.

OceanGate, the company responsible for operating the Titanic-bound deep-sea submersible, issued a statement Thursday, expressing its belief that the five people aboard the ship, including its chief executive Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and her son Suleman Dawood , Hamish Harding , and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, have tragically lost their lives.
