Elon Musk could have Invented Google-like Search Engine Long Before

Elon Musk has established himself as one of the world’s most well-known innovators. He is credited with founding PayPal, SpaceX, and Tesla Motors.

Musk, on the other hand, was thinking about how we use the internet in the mid-1990s. His first four patents, by the way, were on concepts that are today fundamental to how we search and communicate online.

While Larry Page and Sergey Brin first introduced us to Google search in 1998, Elon Musk had a vision for a search engine long before it was born. Even before Yahoo, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk prepared a thesis for his degree at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1993 on a Google-like search engine.

Elon Musk responds to a few concerns regarding his leaps from one enterprise to the next in an old video that has been making the rounds on social media. “We could have built something akin to Google twenty years ago,” Musk says when asked about his long-ago Google thesis.

He goes on to state that he worked on ultra-capacitors, solar panels, and the “Google phenomenon” among other things.

Tesla, which is controlled by Musk, is now performing exceptionally well in the electric vehicle market. SolarCity, a Tesla affiliate, on the other hand, is rapidly gaining ground among solar panel makers.

One may argue that things would have been very different if Elon Musk had constructed a web page search engine instead of satellites.

Nonetheless, no one knows what huge idea Elon Musk may come up with next. But now that everyone is talking about it, perhaps Elon Musk will revive his dormant project for a Google-style search engine.
