Two colleagues of ANC Youth League secretary Sindiso Magaqa were also reportedly shot but survived their gunshot wounds. Sindiso Magaqa

The four men, Mbulelo Mpofana, Sbonelo Myeza, Sibusiso Ncengwa and Mlungisi Ncalane, are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and malicious damage to property. They were granted bail last year in February at the Ixopo Magistrate Court on a R5,000 bail. But in March last year, Ncengwa was found guilty of plotting to rob money in transit and sentenced to 95 years in prison by the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
