Alexis Joy Sather Arrested
The suspect is identified as Alexis Joy, who has been arrested and charged with killing 53-year-old Amanda Roberts. This American citizen is becoming the talk of the town and everyone is talking about her crime. Currently, she is in jail and serving her sentence behind bars. In addition to the murder, she was arrested and jailed on charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and sale of heroin and distribution of fentanyl. Due to a drug overdose, the 53-year-old lady passed away in September 2022. For this reason, Alexis made the news again and made everyone look for her.
What are the charges against Alexis Joy?
The defendant was first arrested for probation violation on September 21, 2022 after police found 2.9 grams of fentanyl on her as she was walking on US 1 in Grassy Key. After that, she was charged with second degree murder. Similarly, Joy was already being held at the county jail on a possession charge in October when police officers arrested Joy in the death of Roberts. MCSO made a post on their social media account related to the arrest of the suspect. Their post says that “Alexis Joy Sather, 23, was arrested for killing Wednesday for selling fentanyl that resulted in the overdose of Amanda Roberts, 53, of Grassy Key.”
Police further mention that it was the third time in the last year that the Sheriff’s Office had arrested a drug dealer in connection with a death resulting from his sale of narcotics. Police stated that the victim was discovered dead at her home on September 2, 2022 and even found drug evidence at the scene of the death. The Medical Examiner’s Office also determined the cause of death to be an overdose of diazepam and fentanyl. Her body was found around 06:30 pm, Sather received a brief 47 second phone call from a friend. Within a day, Sather made multiple attempts to contact Roberts by texting and calling his phone.
