Furious dad reveals huge amount he had to spend at Disneyland and urges everyone to stay away

Mario Zelaya, a Canadian father of two, felt like he was taking his family to the “happiest place on earth” when he took them to Disneyland Paris. The man, on the other hand, was having a miserable day and took to TikTok to explain why.

Zelaya attributed most of his dissatisfaction to high ticket prices and long wait times for rides, referring to Disney as the “biggest money-printing machine.”

Dad made a regrettable decision when he visited Disneyland in Paris, feeling almost embarrassed by the significant amount of money he ended up spending. The tickets alone cost 1,100 euros, which translates to $1,200 for Americans and $1,600 for Canadians.

His decision to purchase the Premier Passes for €160 per person was driven by one main factor: the long lines that plagued the theme park.

It was surprising how crowded Disneyland was, no matter if you were in Paris, Orlando, or California. Frustrated by the endless lines, Dad decided to pay the full amount for the premium passes.

The “It’s a Small World” tour, which he described as unexciting, took an hour and fifteen minutes to complete, even with the upgraded passes that allowed them to skip the line.

The father claimed that he waited in line for more than 25 hours.

Despite the unexciting experiences and substantial cost, Dad and his family waited in line for more than 25 hours combined for all the trips they took.

This led him to believe that purchasing the Disney skip-the-line access pass was a better option than opting for a three-day stay at the park without upgrades, since it effectively meant spending most of his time waiting in lines.

Throughout their visit, from start to finish, they couldn’t even ride all the attractions because of the incessant crowds.

Dad’s advice to others considering a trip to Disney World was clear: If it’s a lifelong dream for you or your kids, go for it, but be sure to get the line detour to make the experience more enjoyable.

According to the New York Post, the cost of admission to Disney World and Disneyland has increased more than 3,871% in the last 50 years. During the height of the pandemic, Disney closed its parks, only to reopen them and raise prices to make up for some of the losses.

Estimates show that theme park ticket prices have been gradually rising since 1971, through numerous financial calamities ranging from the 1973 oil crisis to the 2008 financial crisis, culminating in the pandemic.
