Antoinette Slabbert confirmed the news of Moleboheng Khaeane’s passing. She passed away after learning of a car accident that occurred on the N1 outside of Bloemfontein. The fatal accident occurred on Thursday, July 20, 2023. And Bobby Serame lost his life after a brief battle with his illness. Bongani Mbatha was assassinated in his house. He was shot dead on Tuesday on the outskirts of Durban. The fourth journalist on the list, Welcome Skhosana, died on Wednesday. Slabbert said, “We want to thank each and every one of them for their dedication and contribution to the craft of journalism and for making sure our nation’s story was delivered to our communities uncensored.”
Mosiuwa Ntata Mabatho Tsoeu shared a photo of Molebogeng Tshidi Khaeane and wrote, “These photos are from Wednesday when he was about to start his shift.
