Although you receive a notification when a certain person unsends the message you sent, there is no direct way to view the content of unsent messages.
When someone unsends the message you sent, you receive a notification. However, once you or the other person unsends the message, you or the other person will not be able to see it.
Steps to view unsent messages in Messenger
It is not possible to view unsent messages in Messenger Android. Once it is deleted, it is gone forever and you cannot recover it from Messenger. However, some third-party apps can help you recover old messages and unsent messages on Messenger, just like you can recover permanently deleted messages on Facebook.
These apps work by saving your notifications. When you receive a message, you receive a notification and these apps save these notifications before they are deleted or stopped being sent.

- Now all the notifications on your device will be saved and you will be able to access them even if people cancel or delete them.

Via messaging app
You need to download the “Notisave” app on Google Play to view unsent messages in Messenger. It is a status and notification saver app that automatically saves messages to Messenger from the notification bar by automatically saving notifications. With the help of the app, you can search at once from all the apps.
Notisave supports Messenger and other messaging apps to automatically save new messages, images and statuses. To use Notisave, these are the steps:
- Open Google Play and download Notisave.
- Now grant access to notifications by activating “Notisave”.

- Activate “Messenger”.

This can also be tested through another phone by sending a message to yourself and then canceling it. However, you must enable Messenger notifications for this to work; Otherwise, your Messenger notifications will not be saved in Notisave.
Note: Notisave is only available on Google Play for Android devices and not on the App Store for iPhone and other iOS devices.
No messaging app
If you want to view unsent messages in Messenger without an app, you need to turn on “Notification History” in your settings. Doing this will save messages before they stop sending, which you will receive in Messenger. However, you should keep in mind that this method is only for some Android users, as devices differ in functionality and options from one to another. So now, this is how you can turn on “Notification History”:

After following these steps, you will be able to view unsent messages in Messenger by navigating to your Messenger notification history. If you have already turned on “Notification History”, select Messenger and then you can see the notification history. It will include your recent and unsent messages in Messenger.
However, simply turning on “Notification History” will not help you view previous unsent messages in Messenger. And in the future you will only be able to see unsent messages. The reason behind this is that previously unsent messages on Messenger are not saved as a notification.
Just like Android devices, this step only works for Android and not for iOS devices as they do not have the “Notification History” feature.
