Kentucky mother accused of murdering her two young children

A Kentucky woman has been charged with two counts of murder after she allegedly shot and killed her two children, ages 6 and 9, inside her home on Wednesday.

Deputies responding to a report of a shooting at Tiffanie Lucas’ home in Shepherdsville around 11 a.m. found her children suffering from gunshot wounds, the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The brothers were rushed to a Louisville hospital, where they died, according to police.

Lucas, 32, was taken to the Bullitt County Jail and charged with two counts of murder.

A neighbor who “felt something was wrong” found the children covered in blood in a bedroom next to a gun on the bed, WLKY reported, citing an arrest report.

Another neighbor told the news outlet that she was shocked by the news after seeing the children just a few days earlier at the bus stop.

“It makes me sick to think about any child getting hurt or possibly losing their life. It’s just devastating,” he told WLKY.
