Lowe’s executive’s 16-year-old daughter dies after crashing her Porsche into a tree

The 16-year-old daughter of a top Lowe’s executive was killed and her two friends were injured after she crashed her Porsche into a tree near her family’s $2.6 million mansion in North Carolina, police said.

Stella Grace Bright was allegedly speeding when her two-seat 2014 Porsche 911 supercar went off the road in Mooresville, near Lake Norman, at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, hitting the tree and a rock wall, the Charlotte Observer reported.

Bright was pronounced dead at the scene, while her two friends were rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

One of Bright’s friends was sitting in the rear section of the sports car, which is not equipped for passengers and does not have seat belts, troopers added.

Both Bright and his front seat passenger were wearing seat belts at the time.

Investigators have not yet revealed how fast they believe Bright was driving at the time, but said speed was a factor.

The fatal accident occurred less than two miles from the Bright family’s $2.6 million lake home, The Daily Mail reported.

It was not immediately clear whether the Porsche, which sells for between $60,000 and $120,000 and can reach speeds approaching 200 miles per hour, was owned by the teenager or belonged to her parents, Teresa and Chris Bright.
