Mom-to-be killed and husband seriously injured while going to share pregnancy news with family during Christmas

An expectant mother was traveling home for Christmas with important news, but she and her unborn baby were killed in a car accident that left her husband in critical condition.

Chloe Stott, 24, and her husband, Parker, from Utah, were heading to Arizona for the holidays to share the happy news with their families on Wednesday.

“They just found out they were pregnant with a baby and were so excited to be parents and share the news with their loved ones over Christmas,” their friend Jake Toolson wrote on GoFundMe.

The couple was traveling on Highway 93 in Wickenburg, Arizona, near Phoenix, around 8:15 p.m. when they collided with a white Volvo commercial truck after failing to fully pass another car in their lane, according to KSL-TV.

Stott and her unborn baby died on impact, local media reported. Parker was flown to the Arizona Burn Center, where he is “under intensive care to save his life,” according to GoFundMe.

The highway was closed for six hours after the crash, KSL-TV said.
