The 35-year-old man told the New York Post, “I witnessed a dog that was breeding in front of my house kill my cat late at night.” She also revealed how she had taken the death of her cat the hard way: “This has been one of the toughest losses of my life, and I’ve never experienced anything like it before, and since her death it was such a sudden loss.”
In another conversation with Well-informed personHigh admitted that he was thinking about preserving his pet from the beginning, “I knew I wanted to have [Lokicat] preserved the day I brought it home. It was an immediate knowledge that we were going to be together forever.”
After her cat passed away on February 18, she decided it was best to preserve the animal by freeze-drying it. High explained in a follow-up video: “Freeze-drying has less impact on body tissues [compared to taxidermy], making conservation much more ideal. There’s very little chance she won’t look like herself through the freeze.”
