The anonymous 37-year-old software technician spent nearly 100 minutes confined to the Indian low-cost airline’s toilet on a flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru on Tuesday.

“I was traumatized, stunned and injured when they threw me into the bathroom. When the plane landed in Bengaluru, there was no medical assistance at all,” the man told the Times of India.

The Koramangala resident said SpiceJet offered him a voucher worth the equivalent of $60 for the horrific flight, but he turned it down and plans to sue the airline.

The passenger was returning to Bengaluru after meeting his family in Mumbai, according to the media outlet.

“Shortly after the flight took off at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, I went to use the bathroom on the front left side of the plane,” he said. “Within minutes, I realized something was wrong with the lock and tried to open it.”

Crew members slipped a note under the door to try to calm the captive toilet.

He said he managed to get the attention of the crew, who tried to open the faulty door.

“Every minute that passed was more terrifying,” he told the newspaper.

SpiceJet sources told the outlet that the cabin crew realized that the door was stuck and that they handed the man a note asking him not to panic.

“Sir, we tried our best to open the door, however, we were unable to open it. [it]”the letter said. “Don’t panic. We will be landing in a few minutes, so close the toilet lid, sit down and make sure. As soon as the main door opens, an engineer will come.”

“I was still trapped inside the narrow bathroom. The landing was horrible as he was sitting on the toilet,” the worker said.

SpiceJet told the Times of India that the crew “provided assistance and guidance to the passenger. Upon arrival, an engineer opened the bathroom door and the passenger received immediate medical assistance.

“SpiceJet apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger,” it said, adding that “a full refund” will be provided.

One-way flights on route 600 typically cost about $40, a search on the airline’s website revealed.
