Bengaluru-based X user Prakriti recently described her experience traveling in a rickshaw driven by a woman. “For the first time, my driver at BLR is a woman and that made me very happy for some reason,” she captioned the image she shared on January 13.
Till now, the image has more than 3,49,000 views and 5.8 thousand likes. Although more and more female drivers are taking on this role, there may still not be as many as one would expect. But one thing is certain: every time that role is assumed, it weakens the narrative that says gender roles exist for a reason.
