Recover Gmail Password Without Recovery Email and Phone Number

Gmail accounts are no less than a blessing when they have so much to offer and you only need to create an account to get your hands on their amazing features. Additionally, Gmail offers several recovery options in case you forget your password, such as:

  • Using the recovery email address
  • Use of phone number

You can easily reset your password using any of the recovery options available in Gmail.

There may be a scenario where you have added a recovery phone number or email address to your Gmail account, but you don’t have access to it now. Recovery seems impossible, doesn’t it?

Fortunately, Gmail offers another recovery option i.e. using your old password to recover your email address which is explained in detail in the video below:

You can even refer to the step by step guide given below:

  1. In a new tab of your browser, go to gmail.com
  2. Now, enter the email address for which you need to recover the password
  3. Click on ‘I forgot my password’

  1. Now, you will be asked to enter the last password you remember with this Google account.

Here old password means that you should enter any of the passwords you remember for this account. You must have changed it several times and even if you don’t remember the correct one, you can remember and enter the one you have ever used for your account, press ‘Next’.

Enter the last password you remember

  1. Next, for the recovery of your Gmail account, you will be asked to check on your mobile device the notification that you have received from Google. You simply have to press ‘Yes’ on your mobile device followed by the number that you can see on the screen. If you do not have access to your mobile device displayed on the screen, click the “I don’t have my phone” option to continue.

Note: To use this option, you will only need to access your old mobile device that you have ever used to log in to your Gmail account; No phone number is required.

Click on 'I don't have my phone'

  1. After that, you will have the option to use your recovery email address for your Gmail account recovery, since you don’t have access to it, just click ‘Try another way’.

  1. Then, depending on the recovery information you’ve added to your Gmail account, you’ll have the option to use your mobile phone number or answer the security question. So even if you don’t have access to your recovery email address or phone number, you can still regain access to your Gmail account by answering the security question correctly, click ‘Next’ to continue.

  1. By correctly answering the security question, you will be allowed to change your Gmail account password.

Create a new password for your Gmail account and click Next

This is how you can easily reset your Gmail account password, even if you don’t have access to your alternate or recovery email address or phone number that was linked to your account.

Note: The options you’ll get for recovering your Gmail account depend on the information you added to your account when you set it up. If you have not added any recovery information, it will not be possible to regain access to your account; Google will need some information to check if it is the real owner of the account who is trying to recover it; all you can do is create a new Gmail account.
