In a dazzling demonstration of ability and commitment, a teenager performed the most skips in a single minute, breaking a record that had stood unbroken for an astounding ten years. This incredible feat has left the world in awe as he pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in skipping.
The teen has become a playground legend after breaking a skipping record that had stood for a whopping ten years.
Zhou Qi, 16, of Yuyao City, Ningbo, China, recently graduated from junior high school and earned the Guinness World Records title for the most skips in one minute, with 374.
The record has stood for a decade, with Daisuke Mimura (Japan) previously holding it with 348 skips in 2013.
Zhou Qi prepared the endeavour independently and invited his friends to assist him in completing the task.

Guinness World Records shared the news on their official Twitter handle. His first application was deemed invalid since it did not adhere to all of the rules, but the child was not discouraged from pursuing his dream.
Zhou Qi immediately completed his second try and won the record after online communicating with the records administration staff. “My best performance was 398 times in one minute in the online middle school division of the 3rd Primary and Secondary School Students’ Rope Skipping Championship in 2022,” Zhou Qi remarked.
“At the time, I wanted to break the world record.” Because middle school was so demanding, I had to postpone the challenge for a year. Even though my training time was limited due to schooling, I never doubted my ability to succeed.”
Zhou Qi has been a school rope skipping squad member for seven years and frequently competes in provincial and national competitions. He practised twice daily in primary school and quickly rose to prominence in competitive rope jumping, setting a team record. Zhou Qi continued exercising twice a week after entering junior high school, and on weekends, he would invite his best friend to run with him to maintain his physical health.
“If you want to make a breakthrough in high-speed rope skipping, the trainer must be very disciplined,” Zhou Qi said of his rope leaping experience.
“Maintaining the sport condition by practising for long periods of time will aid in increasing speed; however, jumping rope for long periods of time and in large quantities in a single session is required to break through to endurance.”
Zhou Qi hopes to become a coach when he is older and pass on his wisdom to the next generation. He has always received much support from his parents, coach and friends. He’s not content with that and aims to one day break his record.
The world is now in awe of the adolescent’s incredible feat of breaking the record for the most skips in a minute, which had stood for an entire decade. His name will live on in the annals of skipping history, motivating future generations to pursue their goals and rewrite the limitations of human potential.
