Birth and early life
Stee was born in 1989 in Bluffton, South Carolina. Her musical journey took a unique path, shaped by her early aspirations and the inspiration she found in unexpected places. Although his parents were classically trained singers, Stee initially had different ambitions and aspired to become an engineer. However, his life took a different turn when he was introduced to the music of R&B vocalist Mario. This meeting served as a catalyst for Stee’s own musical aspirations and he began to pursue a career in music.
In 2014, Stee formed his own band and began performing at various events, including weddings. Throughout his journey, he had a great source of support and inspiration in his cousin Matthew. Matthew also dreamed of becoming a singer, but faced the challenges of living with diabetes, which physically limited his ability to pursue his musical dreams. Despite his own obstacles, Matthew consistently encouraged Stee to audition for “The Voice” starting in 2013.
Tragically, Stee never got the chance to share the news of her upcoming audition for “The Voice” with Matthew, as Matthew passed away in May.
