Here’s a list of some of the best automotive cars, concepts, and technologies that were announced at CES 2023.

BMW i Vision Dee Color Change

The I Vision Dee is a midsize sedan concept that BMW showed off at CES. It uses the same advanced color-changing e-ink technology that was used in the iX Flow concept that BMW showed off at CES 2022.

Editorialge says that the bodywork of the BMW I Vision Dee consists of 240 e-ink segments that can be separately controlled to change colour. This means that the car can be made to look different by combining colors and patterns in almost endless ways. The I Vision Dee also has a mixed reality slider and an advanced head-up display with “shy tech” sensors that allow the driver to choose how much digital content to display on the screen.

Sony Afeela electric car

Sony showed off a concept car three years ago, and at CES this year, it showed off a new concept electric vehicle called the Afeela. The electric car was produced in collaboration with Honda. When it comes out, which could be as soon as 2026, it will be powered by Qualcomm.

When Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida showed off the car on stage at CES, he called it a “moving entertainment space.” The prototype has 45 cameras and sensors inside and outside the car to ensure the safety of passengers.

Qualcomm partners with Salesforce for a connected customer experience

Qualcomm, which is best known for making processors for smartphones, announced at CES that it would work with CRM software company Salesforce to create a new smart connected vehicle platform for the auto industry. The platform is made with Snapdragon Digital Chassis and Salesforce’s Automotive Cloud. Its goal is to give automakers, fleet providers, and other vendors the tools they need to deliver personalized customer experiences that can be upgraded throughout a vehicle’s lifecycle.

Through driver data, the new connected vehicle platform will help car manufacturers learn more about how their customers behave. It will also allow them to offer connected services that can be sold for money. Cars built on the platform can be changed on the fly to work with new connected services, and users will find it easy to upgrade.

ZF heated seat belts for longer EV range

In cars with internal combustion engines, the heater uses the wasted heat from the engine to heat the interior of the car. But because electric cars don’t have motors that generate a lot of heat, it could take a lot of energy to keep the interior warm in the winter.

That’s why people who travel in electric cars are told to turn on heated seats instead of the heater to stay warm. Now ZF, a company that makes auto parts, has added heated seatbelts to the mix. The new seat belt shown at CES is made to keep people warm all over. It could help electric vehicles go further by reducing the amount of energy needed to heat the cabin.

Harman AR Head-Up Display

Samsung-owned Harman unveiled its Harman Ready Vision Head-Up Display at CES 2023. The head-up display uses the vehicle’s sensors to provide the driver with real-time visual alerts that inform them of their surroundings and driving conditions. For example, the head-up display could display more specific navigation instructions on the windshield.

Along with the head-up display, Harman will add spatial and directional audio to its platform. This will help drivers understand what is happening around them and allow them to act faster in dangerous situations while keeping their eyes on the road.

Goodyear sustainable tires

A lot of attention was paid to the technology inside the cars, but tire maker Goodyear showed off a tire that it says is made from 70% materials that are good for the environment. Soybean oil, recycled polyester, pine resins and other ecological materials are used to manufacture the tire.

Goodyear says that in addition to being made from recycled and reusable materials, the tire also has less rolling resistance than tires made from traditional materials. This means that the demo tire could save fuel and have a lower carbon footprint.
