Investigating authorities stated that the body of the Florida boy was found on the night of Friday, March 31, 2023. The St. Petersburg Police Department stated that the 2-year-old boy was found in Lake Maggiore and that his father, Thomas Mosley, 21, had been charged with 2 counts of first degree murder in the death of his wife and young son.
Anthony Holloway, the head of the police department stated in the released statement that “It is with great sadness that I have to inform everyone that we have discovered the body of Taylen Mosley. It’s pretty horrible and my condolences to his family.” This heartbreaking announcement comes after the desperate search for the boy and after his mother, 20-year-old Pashun Jeffrey, was discovered stabbed to death in her St. Petersburg apartment on the afternoon of Thursday, March 30, 2023. Since then, the boy was missing and a major search was launched with the help of state, local and federal agencies.
Dive teams from Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, PCSO and Clearwater Fire Rescue searched lakes and ponds near the apartment complex. Ten miles from his mother’s home, Taylen was found dead in the mouth of an alligator. After killing the animal, the police discovered his corpse and the forensic doctor determined the cause of his death. Now the defendant is in jail and the first court for him arrives on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Pinellas County. The officers stated that the investigation directed detectives to search for Dell Holmes Park, Lake Maggiore and 22nd Street South. After a day-long search, night officers were informed of an alligator seen with something suspicious in its mouth.
