What did the Friends cast win?
Each member of the Friends cast reportedly earns around $20 million each year. Each cast member (Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer and Courteney Cox) receives 2% of the show’s annual distribution revenue.
When did the cast get the same salary?
Despite Warner Bros.’ Preferring individual contracts with each star, the cast of Friends came together for season 3 talks to ensure pay parity (and raises) for everyone. The studio agreed to pay cast members $75,000 per episode (a total of $1.875 million), which was the amount provided to the lowest-paid star of the season.
Why did the cast collaborate for equal pay?
The collaboration of Aniston, LeBlanc, Cox, Perry, Schwimmer and Kudrow established a pattern for later casts such as The Big Bang Theory, whose stars used collective bargaining in salary negotiations to achieve pay equity for all its participants.
How much do repeat friends earn? The ensemble earns approximately $120 million each year from revivals, with each cast member receiving approximately $20 million.
How will friends’ residual salary for Matthew Perry now be distributed?
Is Matthew Perry still getting Friends residuals? Perry continued to collect residuals from Friends until his death in October 2023. His residual payments will now go to his estate and/or the recipient or beneficiaries named in his will.
It’s unclear who will receive Matthew Perry’s Friends residuals, but if he had a will, he would have nominated a beneficiary for the payments. For cases like this, the SAG-AFTRA union has a residual assets department.
When a union artist dies, the department must be notified and documentation submitted to transfer residual funds to the artist’s selected dependents. Since Perry was not married and had no children, the beneficiaries are likely his parents; however, this has not been formally established.
In addition to helping people with addiction issues, Perry converted his former home in Malibu into Perry House, a sober living center that operated until 2015.
“I would like to be remembered as someone who lived well, loved well and was a seeker,” Perry said in the 2022 interview. “And the most important thing about him is that he wants to help people. That’s exactly what I’m looking for.” .
