Cory Hunter and his companions were riding in an Uber on the 91 Freeway in Corona on May 21 at approximately 2:30 am local time. Hunter was then woken up by his coworkers while he was still dozing in the car. He was asked to let someone who wanted to vomit out of the vehicle. The Uber driver drove off soon after, leaving the 21-year-old man alone on the highway. Cory Hunter was struck by a Toyota Corolla while he was driving alone on the road.
