The Internet is sometimes a strange place. It is a virtual space where information crosses borders and connects people from all over the world. In the midst of this vast digital landscape, quirky and surprising content often emerges, especially in videos.
One such video stands out, in which a woman recounts her harrowing experience of mistakenly using glue instead of eye drops, which led to an unexpected trip to the emergency room.
This story reminds us of the unexpected setbacks that can occur in our technology-driven lives.
Jennifer Eversole, from Santa Rosa, California, shared her story on TikTok.
This incident occurred in June and recently gained attention on various social media platforms and quickly went viral.
In the video, which has been viewed almost 250,000 times, the woman is heard saying: “Well, I did it. I won the award for most idiotic person.”
“My eye drops are right next to the glue, they are the same size bottle, I wasn’t paying attention and now my eye is glued shut.”
Mrs. Eversole also remembered and said: “I felt an intense burning, a very strong burning, I felt hot.”
“And then I closed my eye real quick.” she says. “And I don’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing because it didn’t reach my eyeball much. And maybe I wouldn’t have glued my eyes shut if I hadn’t, but I don’t.” “I don’t know what would have happened. It could have been worse.”
According to People, an ambulance took the woman to the hospital’s emergency room.
There, doctors used numbing drops to open his eye and discovered scratches on his eye.
He was told to keep his eye covered until it healed. According to the outlet, Mr. Eversole later explained that the mistake occurred because he applied superglue to his daughter’s pressed-on nails.
“My mistake is that I didn’t save it afterwards, and I remember thinking, ‘I should probably save it so no one mistakes these for eye drops,’ which is exactly what happened.” She was quoted by People.
In a TikTok update, he mentioned that his eye was “healing very well” after visiting an ophthalmologist.
If the glue comes into contact with the eyes, it may cause irritation and tearing. Products such as nail glue, super glue, and eyelash glue can give off strong odors that affect the eyes. In some cases, medical attention may be necessary to ensure proper care, as it can be dangerous to your vision.
