7 new things you shouldn’t miss on your next trip to Ayodhya

At this time, the holy city of Ayodhya vibrates with new life. The Ram Mandir is under construction and the city is adorned with floral decorations and festive lighting at every corner in preparation for its inauguration on January 22.

Tourists and religious tourists will be welcomed with exciting developments, including direct flights to Ayodhya and a new sightseeing cruise service.

With the opening of the new Maharishi Valmiki Ayodhya Dham International Airport, Ayodhya will be just a flight away from major cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Domestic airlines like Air India and IndiGo will operate non-stop direct routes from Delhi to Ayodhya from January 6, tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya from January 11 and daily flights from Mumbai to Ayodhya from January 15.

2. Experience the cruise

The Jatayu Cruise can now transport guests along the beautiful ghats of the Saryu River.

Staff members on board offer cultural anecdotes and experience to tourists during the two-hour guided journey from Nayaghat to Guptarghat, and a documentary on the history of Ayodhya is also shown.

3. Book aarti online

For the first time, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has opened online bookings for ‘aarti passes’ ahead of the inauguration of the temple. The aartis are performed three times a day, at 6.30 am, 12 noon and 7 pm.

4. Enjoy public Wi-Fi

Currently, public Wi-Fi is available at four locations: Hanumangarhi, Nayaghat, Ayodhya Railway Station and Guptar Ghat.

5. Light and sound show.

Among other things, you can enjoy the light and sound shows built on some of the 108 repaired water bodies of Ayodhya.
