British motorcycle racer Sam Sunderland went beyond his usual desert racing environment to film a promotional video atop the Burj Khalifa. Sunderland ascended the world’s tallest skyscraper dressed in full gear as part of a cooperation between Dubai Tourism and Red Bull.

The short footage, titled “Yalla,” showed him climbing a metal ladder and eventually standing on top of the famous Dubai landmark.

In November 2023, renowned climbers Alain Robert and Alexis Landot ascended the Burj Khalifa to kick off a global mountain-clearing effort. They used ropes and harnesses in accordance with safety standards, but were not provided with additional tools or support.
