The videos were uploaded to X (formerly known as Twitter) by people who were lucky enough to observe the spectacular meteor shower. One of the videos shows a driver on the road when the night sky suddenly bursts into a ball of bright green light, which then transforms into a streak, streaking across the sky in almost the blink of an eye.
Another camera clip featured in the video showed a group of people rejoicing in an open field. They formed a circle and surrounded each other while holding hands. The meteor appears in the sky unexpectedly and without warning, lighting up the sky with a beautiful green tint. The people at the venue seemed surprised when they stopped dancing and turned their backs to see what had happened.
A user named Nahel Belgherze posted another visual representation of the meteor on the microblogging network. The video shows a little boy playing with a balloon in a park as a meteor streaks across the sky with flashes of green light, passing through the clouds and leaving a trail of green light behind. It all starts with a meteoroid, which is a small piece of rock, metal or other debris from space. Meteoroids can range in size from small grains of sand to larger objects several meters in diameter. These meteoroids can be remains of asteroids, comets or other celestial bodies.
When a meteoroid enters Earth’s atmosphere, it travels at great speed, usually several tens of kilometers per second. As it enters the atmosphere, it compresses the air in front of it, creating intense air pressure and heating up due to rapid deceleration.
