This story was recently shared by a Reddit user on the platform, after which it soon went viral. User u/Glamgalatx was on a flight from Phoenix, Arizona, to Austin, Texas, on January 14 when the incident occurred: “Last Sunday, I was on a direct US flight from Phoenix to Austin and sat in the row where “This incident occurred… I’m only sharing this because it’s entertaining, and no, I didn’t film anything.”
He said he saw that the man was “audibly unhappy about something” and that as soon as he sat down, he began mumbling something under his breath.

“After a few minutes, most people had taken their seats, but we haven’t left the door yet. I heard him respond loudly, ‘Did you think that was rude? So how about this smell?’ and he farted. I’m not sure what prompted that comment, and while it was fun to hear, it was also inappropriate, especially coming from a mature man on a plane. The women sitting next to him seemed to be minding their own business. “I didn’t hear anyone respond to that, but the guy sitting next to me and I exchanged smiles and shook our heads,” the user wrote in the Reddit post.
How did the situation come to an end?
The flight, which was heading to the runway to take off, stopped due to what happened and returned to the boarding gate. Finally, the flight crew intervened and stated over the announcement system: “We apologize for the interruption, but we are returning to the gate.” “We will provide you with more information as soon as we have it.”
A flight attendant then informed the passenger that he was leaving the plane. When she expressed confusion about why he was being taken off the plane, the crew member responded that they would discuss it when they disembarked.
