In a terrifying scene straight out of a horror movie, a 2-year-old Texas boy was savagely attacked by a pit bull, before the beast blew the front door off its hinges trying to get inside the family.
The ordeal unfolded this week when Chante Wright-Haywood left her Austin home to drop her young son CJ off at daycare on her way to work.
Wright-Haywood saw out of the corner of her eye what she thought was another neighborhood child, who turned out to be a pit bull that ambushed her young son in her front yard before she could get to him, WKRG reports . .
The cruel attack was captured by his doorbell security camera.

The video captures Wright-Haywood screaming and fighting back, kicking the crazed dog before grabbing CJ who was crying hysterically as they ran frantically toward the house.
CJ suffered a small bite to the stomach, but their harrowing encounter was just beginning.
The dog chased them, biting and jumping at them as Wright-Haywood yelled at her daughter inside the house to open the door.

“You can hear that clicking, trying to get to him. [my son],” she said. “My daughter was able to open the door and I just pushed him in… the dog was trying to get into the house,” she told WKRG.
Once inside, the predatory dog clawed at the front door from the outside while Wright-Haywood and her two children desperately propped up the door with their bodies.
“The dog actually broke the door hinges off the frame…” he said.
After they managed to enter the house, the dog continued its relentless pursuit, scratching at the door and even breaking it off its hinges. Chante Wright-Haywood
“The kids and I were putting all of our body weight on the door to keep it closed and keep the dog out while I called the police and EMS to come.”
Wright-Haywood said the nightmarish episode finally ended when Animal Control showed up to capture the dog.
The mother of six said loose dogs roaming the streets have been a recurring problem in her neighborhood.
The identity of the dog’s owner was not immediately known.
