Akanksha was born on July 26, 1988 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, to RK Puri and Chitra Puri. He finished his studies and graduated from the university in his hometown. Apart from acting and modelling, Akanksha has a keen interest in dancing. Although Akanksha wanted to become an actress from a young age, she was an international cabin crew for Kingfisher Airlines before starting modeling and acting.
Akanksha first appeared in the Tamil film Alex Pandian in 2013, followed by Tihar and Praise the lord (Malayalam). She made her Bollywood debut with Calendar Girls in 2015. Her other notable films are Action (2019), Samrajyam II: Son of Alexander (2015), Amar Akbar Anthony (2015) and Lodde (2015). Apart from playing the role of Mata Parvati in Vighnaharta Ganesh, she has appeared in several television shows.
