Tea enthusiasts have different opinions about this blend after watching a video of the vendor at Vicky Tea Stall at Crystal Chowk in Amritsar, Punjab, preparing this unique brew. “Tag chai lovers,” reads the caption accompanying the video posted by ‘chatore_broothers’ on Instagram. In case you’re still wondering, it was Amul butter that baffled some chai lovers.
How did the Amritsar seller make butter chai?
In the now viral clip, the man is seen heating milk in a utensil. Then he adds sugar, tea leaves, masala, rose petals and green cardamom. He uses a mortar and pestle to crush nuts as the video progresses.

The man then melts butter in another utensil and mixes it with powdered nuts. Before adding tea to the mixture, he roasts it briefly. He then gives the customer a steaming cup of tea near the end of the video.
