Anita began her career in the historical drama television series Chanakya as Subhada (a spy in Taxila) in 1991. She appeared in the Zee TV drama series Banegi Apni Baat as Mrs. Seth in 1995. The purpose of the series was academic life. That same year, she appeared in the series Shanti as Indu Singh on DD National in 1995. In 1998, she acted in the Sony Entertainment television show Just Mohabbat as Sumedha.
