Anna University TNEA Counseling Fee 2023
The counseling fee for general category applicants is Rs 5,000. Aspirants of SC/ST/SCA category are given fee relaxation of Rs 4,000 which means they have to pay Rs 1,000 as counseling fee.
Anna University TNEA Counseling Process 2023
The counseling session for admission to participating engineering colleges associated with Anna University will be conducted online on the certified portal of the conducting authority. The TNEA counseling process is a step-by-step process adopted by the supervisory authority for admission of students to engineering colleges. Following are the steps to understand the complete process adopted by TNEA.
Step 1: Registration for the counseling session.
Shortlisted contenders in the engineering entrance examination will have to complete their registration to participate in the counseling process. Those who qualify for the engineering entrance exam but do not complete their registration will not be allowed to appear for the counseling session.
Step 2: Fee payment
Registration of applicants will be successful only once they have duly paid the registration fee through any online payment mode. They must bear in mind that payment of the fee must be made before the due date set by the authority. The rate for the general category and the reserved category is detailed above.
Step 3: Document Verification
Candidates must present the documents required by the authorities to advance in the advisory process. The authorities will verify the authentication of the documents submitted by the applicants at this stage.
Step 4: Filling of Choice
Once the applicant is registered, he/she will need to log in to the official portal of TNEA using his/her user ID and password, which he/she used at the time of registration. After logging into the portal, they need to choose their preferred university or institute and the course of their choice.
Step 5: Lock options
After completing their choice, candidates must finally lock in their options. No modification is made after locking options. The authorities will then send a pdf document comprising the list of options blocked by the candidates to the email registered with the integrity code to prevent the applicants from making any further changes to the options they submitted.

Step 6: Provisional Seat Assignment
The authorities then allocate the seats to the applicants based on the choice made by them and the availability of seats in the particular university or institution. Candidates can check their seat allotment by logging into the portal.
Step 7: Sending the seat assignment offer
After seat allocation, aspirants have the option to accept, reject or reject the seat offered to them. This totally depends on the choice of the aspirant.
Step 8: Final Assignment
The final award will be made based on the applicant’s decision to accept or reject the assigned seat. The final result of seat allocation will be published on the authentic portal of TNEA.
Step 9: Apply to the university for admission
Once the seat assignment has been made, applicants must appear at the university or particular institution that has been assigned to them. They had to pay the ticket and then confirm their seats. If applicants are not assigned a seat, they will be able to claim the amount initially deposited. The amount will be refunded according to TNEA rules.
