Apple has introduced a service program for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro users who are experiencing sound issues with their devices. Users have complained about speakerphone issues on their iPhone 12 series phones while making calls, which Apple has now acknowledged.
According to Apple, this issue may affect only iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro units manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. This is the first service program for the iPhone 12 series, which launched in October.
Apple has established a support page for the service program. Those who have had problems with their speakers will be able to have their smartphones repaired for free.
This program only affects the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models, and Apple states that the affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. However, the service program does not include the iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max. For two years after first retail sale, affected iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro models are covered by the program.
According to Apple, the problem could be caused by a component failure in the receiver module. That’s pretty much all Apple has to say on the matter. “Apple has discovered that a very small number of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may have sound issues,” according to the program page. “Your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro may be eligible for the service if it does not transmit sound from the receiver when making or receiving calls,” it continues.
Affected iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro owners can locate an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple retail store, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service through the Apple Repair Center. . Apple recommends backing up your iPhone before repairing it, adding that any damage to the phone, such as a cracked screen or other issues that could prevent a repair from completing, should be fixed first.
This is a global Apple program that does not extend the basic warranty coverage of the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. The company also specifies that it reserves the right to limit or prohibit repair to the country or region where the product was purchased.
