Ashmita made her debut with the television drama series Swim Team as Umang Tandon, Rewa’s best friend from 2015 to 2016. In 2020, she appeared in the comedy-fantasy miniseries Mastram as Inspector Gayatri Geetu. That same year, she played Chandrika Bakshi in Sony Liv’s action series Shrikant Bashir, starring Gashmeer Mahajani, Yudhishthir Singh and Pooja Gor in the lead roles. In 2021, Ashmita appeared in the thriller series Love Scandals & Doctors as Sam in 2021. Later she played the role of Avantika in the thriller series Girgit for 7 episodes.
