He is also famous for the television series Ye Mard Bechara.
Birth and family
Atul Srivastava was born on August 12, 1961 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. His father was a scientist. He has four siblings, an older brother, two younger brothers and a sister. Sanjay Srivastava is his elder brother. The two younger brothers, named Mayank and Prafull Srivastava, had died in the Covid-19 pandemic.
Atul married Suchitra Srivastava on 25 May. She owns a studio called Pink Sun Studio. The couple has a son named Akshat Srivastava who works for TVF (The Viral Fever), as a writer and director.

Education
Atul did his schooling from Baal Shiksha Niketan in Qaiserbagh, Lucknow, and then graduated from Queens Anglo Sanskrit Inter College, Lucknow. After graduation, he studied at Allahabad University, Uttar Pradesh. As acting was his priority as a career, he studied acting at the Bharatendu Academy of Dramatic Arts in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Atul also attended Lucknow University in 1983.

Atul began his career as a theater artist and performed different plays and radio programs. He also wrote and directed plays in the initial phase of his acting career. He rose to fame after appearing in Raj Kumar Hirani’s Hindi comedy Munna Bhai MBBS, starring Sanjay Dutt, where he acted as a fake patient. He later appeared in Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Bhoothnath and Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, etc.
Apart from films, Atul has also played lead characters in television serials in popular television shows like Jeannie Aur Juju as Sumitro Das, Tota Weds Maina as Tota’s father, Rabindranath Tagore’s Stories as Narayan Haldar. Atul has worked in more than 100 Bollywood films and 10 television shows in his four-decade acting career.
