These details are made available to tourists who are willing to pay $150 (Rs 12,488) per person for a single day of the nuptials or $250 (Rs 20,814) for a two-day experience.

“You can experience all the different cultural elements in one go: meeting local people, trying local cuisine, dressing in Indian attire, music, atmosphere, entertainment, learning about local customs and even architecture, depending on the location of the wedding. ” Parkanyi told CNN.

The concept has sparked considerable response on social media, with users praising it as a “brilliant business idea.”

“For $150, definitely not bad for whoever invites,” wrote one X (formerly Twitter) user. “It has been a fairly popular offline business for some time now through travel agents and wedding planners.” said another.

“They pay good money, which also helps the family take off the burden. A win-win situation,” said a third user.

The JoinMyWedding website describes the experience as “dressing up in traditional Indian costumes, tasting exotic flavors, dancing to enchanting music and participating in beautiful wedding customs.”
