Ayesha Kapur was born on September 13, 1994 and grew up in Auroville, Puducherry. Her father is Punjabi businessman Dilip Kapur. He is the owner of the Hidesign chain of leather goods stores. Her mother, a German-born girl named Jacqueline Milan, is her brother and her only real brother, and Akash and Vikas are her half-brothers from her father’s first marriage. Apart from Hindi, she is trilingual and grew up speaking English, German and Tamil.

At the age of nine, Ayesha began her career as a child actress in the Bollywood film Black, as the young Michelle McNally, where she starred alongside Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan. She received the 51st Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her performance and set the record for being the youngest nominee and winner of the award in the world.
In 2009, she appeared in the Indian crime drama film, Sikandar, where she played the role of a young Kashmiri Muslim girl, the film was directed by Piyush Jha.
In 2023, she will be seen in the film Hari Om, directed by Harish Vyas, the star cast of the film includes Soni Razdan, Anshuman Jha, Raghubhir Yadav and many more.
