President Biden’s job approval rating among independents has hit an all-time low, according to a new poll.
Only 27% of political independents approve of the job Biden, 81, has done in the White House, an 8-point drop from last month, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday.
Contributing to the president’s lackluster approval from key voters is his handling of the economy and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, where Biden received even lower ratings from independents.
Among the unaffiliated, Gallup measured Biden’s rating on the economy at 24%, and his efforts to navigate the United States’ role in the Middle East conflict received just 25% approval.
The president received slightly better marks for his handling of Russia’s war in Ukraine, 31%, foreign affairs in general, 28% and health policy, 35%.

According to the survey, about 49% of Americans consider themselves politically independent.
The group has also expressed reservations in recent polls about Biden’s advanced age and his involvement in his son’s businesses.
A Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll released last week found that 59% of independents believe the president “assisted and participated in” his first son’s business dealings, which a Republican-led House impeachment inquiry launched In September he is investigating.
