President Biden celebrated his birthday on Monday with a photo of a cake burning with 81 candles, setting off a storm of new jokes about his advanced age.

The oldest sitting president in American history attempted to get ahead of the discriminatory narrative by posting a series of self-deprecating jokes.
“Turns out on your 146th birthday you run out of room for candles!” Biden joked on her POTUS Instagram account.
The president also used the image for his first Threads post, joking: “I turned 81 and all I got was a new social platform.”
“And to the birthday candle factory workers, I hope your union gets you overtime,” he joked.
Still, the image sparked even more jokes as it spread online.

But not all reactions to Biden’s fiery celebration were equally joyful.

The president dedicated part of his special day to pardoning a pair of turkeys named Liberty and Bell at the White House, a tradition that dates back 76 years.
