President Biden botched a simple acronym while speaking to Pacific Island leaders on Monday in his latest verbal gaffe.
Biden, 80, was stumped as he tried to dictate the abbreviation for his administration’s Pacific Islands Infrastructure Initiative at a White House forum.
“Today I am pleased to announce that we are working with Congress to invest $40 billion in our Pacific Islands Infrastructure Initiative,” he said at the leaders’ roundtable. “We call it P, PI; it doesn’t matter what we call it anyway, but that’s what it is.”
