A brave 4-year-old British girl is being hailed as a hero after she called the police and performed CPR on her unconscious mother, saving her life.
In newly released audio of the call to 999, Britain’s version of 911, Daisy Hamer could be heard telling an operator: “Mum’s not breathing” when Aimee Hamer collapsed last year and using the phonetic alphabet to direct emergency services. emergency to your house.
Aimee started feeling unwell around 2 pm on May 23, 2022, and decided to go to bed with her young daughter, SWNS reports.
The mother gave her daughter her cell phone so she could watch YouTube videos, but Daisy ended up using the phone to call the police.
“My mom has fainted. “She won’t talk to me,” Daisy told authorities in the 999 call.

When an operator on the other end of the line began asking her questions about her mother’s condition, Daisy was able to answer all the questions and followed the instructions she was given.
She even performed CPR when her mother became unresponsive and stopped breathing, with the help of her 2-year-old sister Molly.

When asked to tilt her mother’s head back to clear her airway, Daisy was heard saying: “Molly is doing it, my little sister. “She’s only 2 years old.”
Together they helped their mother, who suffers from chronic heart disease, vitamin deficiency and iron deficiency anemia, breathe again.
“Mum’s woken up,” Daisy told the operator on the 999 call.
The young woman now says she wants to be a paramedic or surgeon when she grows up, her mother said.
Aimee explained that because of her health problems, she was eager to teach her four children how to call local authorities in case of an emergency.

“I taught Daisy and my other children the phonetic alphabet by rhyming our zip code so it was fun and memorable,” she said.
She went on to say: “Although I have had other funny situations before, the children were never alone with me as my husband was there to call 999, but Daisy always got involved and brought me a cushion and blanket.
“I always knew there was a chance that one day I might faint or lose consciousness in front of the kids while my husband wasn’t there, so I taught them how to call 999 and not be afraid to do it in an emergency.”
Aimee also said that the only thing she remembers about the incident was “going to bed feeling bad and the next minute finding an ambulance crew, the police and one of our neighbors in my room.
“Daisy is amazing and very grown up for her age,” he added.

On Tuesday the girl, now aged five, received an award for bravery from East Midlands Ambulance Service.
“For a child to call so young and so confident is quite rare, especially when it comes to being able to phonetically provide the postcode of their address,” paramedic Phillip Rowe said at the ceremony at his school.
“Daisy did a great job of being able to help us locate the property and then being able to inform us when we arrived about the medical conditions. [her mother] Lives with.

They remembered the mother of two at a vigil over the weekend as a loving matriarch, who tried not to let her ex get to her.
“She was one of those who cleaned it and said, ‘Everything is going to be okay, everything is going to be okay,’” Durán said.
She went on to describe her friend as a “giver” who “wore her heart on her sleeve.”
